Comparing Epi page, page type and templates with Sharepoint fundamentals
The page type in epi looks similar to content type (basic page content type) in sharepoint. The page type holds all the properties which means associating site columns associated with a content type. In sharepoint we use page content type. Here in epi they call it as page type. Looks similar right ?
When we create a page with this page type. All the properties can be set and it will be stored in data base. Else where in sharepoint when we create a page with the page content type it will be stored in a sharepoint library ( for example pages libraray ). Which intern will be stored in data base.
One thing I liked about Sharepoint is, we can create the properties for content type that is site columns and associate it with content type with out coding :) . But in Epi server we need to go with coding if we have to create any property for a page. Sharepoint rocks here i guess !!
I might have to dig through it a lot. If you feel that there is some other option, then please do comment and correct me...
